John and Munchie ROCK HARVARD!

Sunday was the opening of the Idea Translation Lab @ Harvard. Thursday group members John and Munchies (Michelle) came to Harvard, met with David Edwards, creator of the ITL/Cloud Place/The Boston 100K Innovation Prize, AND ALSO presented their music game idea to Chris Cole the CEO of Disney Interactive. He was impressed and we will meet Chris again in December. We all went to see the Datamatics 2.0 performance by Ryoji Ikeda. Be proud! YOU ROCKED IT OUT! Now lets keep that momentum going!

Friday Group Goes To Beth Israel TRI Brain Lab

Two Friday Groups went to a brain lab at Beth Israel Hospital. We watched a demonstration of TRI technology and heard about MRI, fMRI, how neurons fire and work,  as well as, the areas of the brain.  The test subject was given concentrated electronic pulses to the skull causing neurons to fire and make areas of the body twitch. The demonstration was cool. Good work folks! We were also joined by Melissa Duphilly of Harvard Graduate School of Education also joined as an observer of the program.

Jennifer Brightens A Rainy Afternoon At The BPL.

Friday Group Meets David Edwards on Tuesday

Tuesday we had a party of pizza and ice cream and chillaxin’ with the teens. mentors and teachers at The Cloud Foundation. The Friday groups finally got a chance to present their ideas and brainstorm with David Edwards, owner of The Cloud Foundation and head guy on the Boston 100K Innovation Prize. Friday folks, we have our work cut out for us. Let’s get to it.

David Edwards Works the Thursday Group

David Edwards, professor, artscientist and creator of the Boston 100K Innovation Prize, came to speak with the youth at his Cloud Foundation. Sorry to the other groups for taking all the time but much inspiration was needed. David lit a fire and clarified the program’s mission and direction for the team. Thanks for your time. Friday Gets Tough…On Those Ideas!

Friday is the little dynamo team. The may be small but some big ideas are coming out. These ladies have some great ideas to present to David Edwards, the programs founder, next week. Get those ideas ready. Pitch ‘em! Looking forward to what you bring….so bring it!

Thursday Group Breakin’ It Down. BPL Style.

This session the Thursday team heard about the resources at the library. Then they broke down into teams and broke it down with the ideas. Next week the leader of the program, David Edwards, is coming to hear what the youth have up their sleeves. Trust me, they got a lot. Great ideas teams. Let’s bring in those presentations and show ‘em what you got!

Friday Group Quality Without Quantity.

Friday only two students showed for class but that didn’t stop Olga and Merci from rocking out some awesome concepts for their seed ideas. Don’t forget to push those ideas, research them and dream big. You are off to a great start. I hope to see the others in the group next Friday. Looking forward to it.

Thursday Group Kicks It At The BPL
